Nurture Groups are currently running in Kings Langley Primary School and Hammond Academy four mornings a week. We are also supporting a group at Boxmoor Primary School two afternoons a week.

Nurture groups are designed to help those children, in Key Stage 1, who have difficulty accessing the curriculum in the mainstream classroom. We help children develop the skills needed for learning by focussing on improving attention, concentration and group-working.

Who Attends the Group

Children who attend the group are selected using carefully considered criteria. They benefit greatly from working in a small group of no more than 10 children for between two and four terms. This is not a permanent move and the child will still spend time in their mainstream class.

Partnership Working

We greatly value the partnerships between home, school, and with other professionals who may be able to help and support your child's development.

Your Child’s Class Teacher

In the nurture group we aim to support your child’s learning and development. We will therefore work alongside  your child’s class teacher to ensure that we are supporting your child’s learning and development together
