ICT

The BTEC ITQ is a suite of IT user qualifications developed by e-skills UK (the Sector Skills Council for IT) in consultation with employers.  It is very ‘hands-on’ for learners and is designed to develop the IT skills and competencies needed in the 21st century.

The up-to-date content gives learners important employability skills. The qualification allows a range of progression pathways for learners.  There are no tests or formal examinations.  The units are highly practical and emphasise ‘doing’ rather than ‘writing about’.

IT and the Creative/Digital industry play an important part in many areas of our everyday lives. It is the sector that grows year on year and is vital for the UK economy.  There is a demand from employers for an increasingly skilled and technically literate workforce as nearly all jobs incorporate the use of digital products and software. The BTEC IT Users course provides pupils with specific and transferable skills and a solid foundation in understanding and applying these skills within different relevant scenarios, whether it is in employment or higher education.
